Life Through Eyes Unseen

Written in honor of those
who are temporally deaf blind, but will one day
see and hear our glorious Saviour

Peaceful delight in lifelong vision blind,
With no eyes or ears to guide him through;
His world a painted image in his mind.

The ease of life now complex, intertwined
Difficult tasks, all must start anew;
Peaceful delight in lifelong vision blind.

The raised letters he reads so unrefined,
His fingers glide across the page so new;
His world a painted image in his mind.

A friendship with the fellow sightless defined
As love for each other that all pursue;
Peaceful delight in lifelong vision blind.

So much unknown, for sight loss is combined
With unreceptive ears he knows is true;
His world a painted image in his mind.

The joy of seeing Jesus and all mankind,
He bows before the King and says, “Thank you”;
Peaceful delight in lifelong vision blind,
His world a painted image in his mind.
